Subscription management understands which schools and users have access to which content/services. This includes subscription dates and renewals. It limits users to content they have a valid subscription to. Content may be purchased using automated e-commerce, content provisioning and billing.

Content Presentation Tool

Usable and rich features organise content into easy browsing channels, control user access rights to content, and allow learning package creation from a variety of granular content. Typically facilitating mix n match from various suppliers and free websites and organically created resources. A simple tagging tool can be used to meta tag and index free content and websites. CacheStream adds the functionality to upload and distribute organically created resources in order enhance the learning content delivery process and experience.

Intelligent and manageable content caching

Pre-caching ensures the best possible chance that lessons will go to plan. Intelligent pre-caching understands subscriptions to content and which content is cashable. It also pushes content as close to the end user as possible and enables you to manage central and edge caches. Cached content is easily managed in terms of cross library searching and allowing targeted searches based on meta data. CacheStream removes key scalability issues and provides a Shibboleth roadmap.

Strategic tool for using ELC content

CachStream is able to perform cross content library searching using COL XML. This can search across all subscribed libraries from a single location (assuming content isn't self contained). This in turn makes searching highly effective and result orientated. COL meta data enables granular target searching making CacheStream an educational search engine. In addition searches can be performed on the COL portal directly from CacheStream.
