i2Report, the process management software for schools. With its on-line delivery teachers can write their reports with a blend of tools. Import data, free text or even personalised statements allow staff to reduce the repetition and focus on a student's progress. Once completed the senior teacher console allows all levels of staff to check, edit, approve or even return reports for amendment. All of which is tracked so as to eliminate the loss of reports. You can audit the whole process to identify missing reports but also to ensure all reports are complete. Parental Access Module - eReports
Deliver reports to parents electronically, reducing the paper burden but also forging closer communication links with parents. It costs on average 40p to produce one single copy of a student's report. Imagine if you have 1500 students that's £600 every year on paper costs. That's without even considering a copy for file or the number of times schools print their reports for checking and the associated reprints for amendments. Allow parents to access the report through the schools website and be able to devolve even more communication with parents electronically!! The reports can also be integrated and delivered through the schools chosen learning platform.
Consultation/ Design
i2Q are also here to take away the burden of setting the system up for your school. We will set up the entire package with a style and design of produced report to your specifications - including front covers, inside Head's message and key to explain grade ranges. . It is also possible to include subject specific reports so as to allow more specific assessments in reports relating to the subject and students progress. The software also uses character counts to guide staff in the content of the report and ensures there is no gremlin overhang of comments when you come to print, thus maintaining the schools design and presentation of the report gives a consistency of information for parents.
MIS Integration
The lifeblood to i2Report is it's integration to the schools MIS. Taking student, teacher, subject and class information the system creates a virtual school with classes and students populated with a teacher taking the group. The system then understands when a teacher logs in which classes and tutor groups they take. The software is also flexible enough though to allow staff to bypass their class lists in those exceptional circumstances where a student is incorrectly not in their group and profile of classes they teach, thus reduing the administrative burden of having to keep settings 100% accurate at all times.
Training and Implementation

Simplicity in Creating
The most common feature of successful use of ICT has always meant having simplicity as a core feature. I2Report has been designed make the process of reporting easier whilst also saving time. The reports are 'top and tailed' for staff to reduce the repetitive, mechanical elements of the report writing process. Simple web enquiry pages prompting staff to "fill the box" provide easy navigation for staff and when completed they need only to click the "save" button and move on to the next report.
Statement
Statement banks or common sentences are an established way of speeding up report writing. With i2Report the approach is to empower the school, departments and staff to decide which are good, useful, personalised sentences to use occasionally or more frequently. Simply create & save your common sentence in i2Report with it's ability to insert the name and gender roles then have complete freedom once inserted to augment & personalise to your students progress with 'free text'. Statements themselves though are not for everyone, so if you as a teacher don't like their use then remain with complete free text!
Multilingual Spell-checker
Quality of the written report is paramount when sending documents home to parents. i2Report has a built in spell-checker that is also multi-lingual dictionary with English and Welsh as default.
Quality Control/ Checking Console
Once reports are written, schools have to perform often several layers of checking to ensure accuracy, quality and consistency. The Software has a 'senior teacher' checking console that allows, HOD's, Tutors, HOY's and Senior management to check the reports on-line, edit if necessary, approve or even return to the member of staff with guidance for amendment. The returned report is then tracked to eliminate loss of reports and once amended is re-submitted to the "checker" for re-approval
Auditing
The system also can perform checks to audit if reports have been written, are in progress or are oustanding. These reports can be run by department or by tutor group to identify missing reports much earlier in the report cycle. Reports are denoted as being written, checked, returned or awaiting re-approval to ensure that at a touch of a button the schools can keep up to date with the cycle's progress. This feature also has significant benefits to admin support teams who can ensure the cycle is complete prior to printing
Collation
As a paperless system, once the writing, checking and counting is complete the last process is to produce the printed report ready to go home to parents. Administrative teams simply decide which tutor group they are ready to print and then the software collates each individual students full report (with the necessary front covers etc.) and generates a preview ordered alphabetically. Schools can control the ordering (forwards or backwards) of the reports and then they are simply sent to the printer for printing. Once complete there is no need for a paper copy for filing as i2Report maintains and stores all the reports on-line for 24/7 access and any reprint requirements.
Import and Export of Assessment Data
Workforce reform and continual assessment has resulted in schools carrying more data and looking at ways that they can use the data multiple times in different systems without replication. I2Report goes one step further for schools... The software can import data such as predicted and target grades, attendance figures for the tutor report and even statementing of student progress so that teachers don't have to type data again. Significantly though, i2Report can integrate with the schools data processes so as well as receiving data we can export data back to schools for analysis, creating a loop of data flow in schools and aiding with workforce reforms in removing copy typing.
Off-line Facilities
The majority of teachers now have internet access in their homes so as such the benefits are natural for them in terms of writing reports at home, but what about those without internet? Well they could utilise the simple but effective off-line tool to allow them to work away from the internet and then when complete "upload" their reports back to the system for checking, collating etc.
