Access to content

Proving access to content resources is more than simply allowing a user to embed a URL into a web page or import a SCORM package. To properly give users access to content your content strategy must allow allow subscription management and resource discovery across a whole range of commercial and cultural content.

Shibboleth

Although Shibboleth access will simplify the process of single sign on it is certainly not a subscription management system and it will be sometime before the majority of content providers are offering Shibboleth as a sign in solution.

This starts with the success of i2Q's ContentStream single sign on/subscription management solution and builds it onto the Learning Platform agenda. We are re engineering the core infrastructure of Contentstream and opening up the APIs to make ContentStream NEXUS accessible from any learning environment or platform. This will allow access to all content types, subscription management and cross library searching to be available form any and all Learning Platforms.
